Gevirtz Graduate School of Education Virtual Open House
Friday, November 17
10am PST on Zoom
Interested in an MA or PhD in Education? Please join us for a virtual open house and Q&A session about graduate programs in the Department of Education at UCSB!
Our faculty work in three program areas to investigate issues that shape learning environments, the needs of diverse learners, the development of disciplinary knowledge, educational policies, and research methods:
- Culture, Language and Human Development (CLHD)
- Learning, Teaching, and Teacher Education (LTTE)
- Policy, Program Evaluation, and Research Methods (PPRM)
In our doctoral program, we mentor graduate students through small seminars and research groups toward future careers as professors, researchers, teacher educators, and educational administrators. Our master's program (which includes both professional and research strands) offers opportunities to learn the basics of doing and applying research in settings ranging from K-12 schools, to the university, to community organizations.
Please note: The Department of Education does not offer a teacher certification program. if you are interested in becoming a K-12 teacher, please consider the Teacher Education Program instead.
